M. JohnsonBloomington, INDecember 4, 2008Please appoint Jeff Flake to the Appropriations Committee. Now more than ever we need people in Washington who will do what it takes to stop wasteful spending. We desperately need people in Washington who will challenge wasteful spending. If Obama was serious when he said he would go through the budget line by line and get rid of waste, then he will need the support of people like Jeff Flake.
john burkeCharlotte, NCDecember 4, 2008I am a conservative voter (no, I did not vote for McCain NOR Obama) and consider myself to be right in the middle of the spectrum. I always weigh the candidate's history - I am right on top of CAGW's voting records and watch and evaluate an extreme number of congressional hearings on Cspan - and do consider Reps like Flake and Demint to be THE CLASS ACTS, both in the government and in the party. CAGW archives indicate that the dem party has been completely out of control forever. It just took a few repubs joining them on a few issues to drive spending completely out of control in the past few years.
Janet BrownTucson, AZDecember 4, 2008Jeff Flake is the right person for the job.
James McHutchisonHaddam Neck, CTDecember 4, 2008We need to have our tax money spent the way we spend our own money

otis whitesfort worth, TXDecember 4, 2008 I am a retired builder and I have lived through the 235 program, the S&l bailout and now the Barney the fag financial crisis, Yes I want people like Jeff Flake on the committee. Not just a republican but a true Conservative. It is my opinion that, at this time, we are on the brink of a collapse just like the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Thomas VoltzMelville, NYDecember 4, 2008Let's get Jeff Flake on the committee. We need good solid conservatives keeping an eye on things.
Jeffrey ShapiroMcLean, VADecember 4, 2008I am a conservative who normally supports Republicans. However, I am furious with the out of control spending and politics as usual that the Republicans engaged in from 2000-2006. We had a historic chance to educate the public about the virtues of limited government - AND TO LEAD BY EXAMPLE. The Republicans blew it. We need new leadership by folks like Jeff Flake who actually stand for limited government and practice what they preach.

Greg StinemanFlorence, TXDecember 4, 2008You can't win trying to be Democrats or Democrat Lite. Get back to basics: Smaller gov't, less taxes, less meddling. The only reason the GOP managed to make the showing it did is because of Palin on the ticket, otherwise teh Dems would have had their landslide.

Lauren KAshburn, VADecember 4, 2008Wasteful spending is the primary reason for the 2006 loss of Congress to a Democratic majority. Earmarks are just a small fraction of the unchecked deficit spending by a Congress consumed with spending and rife with corruption. Revitalize the Republican message: limited government, fiscal responsibility, individual liberty and strong defense. Please take a step towards responsible oversight of the public purse by appointing Jeff Flake to the House Appropriations Committee.
