Dan LorenzStafford, VADecember 3, 2008I strongly support the assignment of Congressman Flake to the House Appropriations Committee. The GOP will never regain control of Congress without returning to the conservative basis upon which it was built. Fiscal restraint and responsible spending and elimination of earmarking would be steps in the right direction.

Jack GreenNapoleon, OHDecember 3, 2008A History lesson in 1791 the states ratified the first 10 amendmentments and for the next one hundred and twensty two years to 1913 we did not have a 1) FEDERAL INCOME TAX one could spend his money any way he wanted or put the mooney in his business 2) We did not have a Federal Reserve Act (which after 1913 gave us INSTANT INFLATION 3) Our States appointed the U.S.Senators (until 1913) If the states still appointed the U.S.Senators do you think JFK'S Brother Bobby Kennedy from TAXachusetts would be appointed by the New York Lesislature to the United States Senate - - - - of course not. The states lost what ever power they had in letting the public vote for the U.S.Senators (after 1913)

James W. LundyPort Matilda, PADecember 3, 2008Hi John: Please appoint Jeff Flake to the Appropriations Committee. The GOP is in great need of some leadership. There has been no real leadership in the GOP since Ronald Reagan stepped down. Hire David Horowitz, a former communist, to provide the leadership on issues and to teach Republicans how to fight the gutter fighters--the top leftist/socialist Democrats. Horowitz knows how to do this. Horowitz does not need to be the front man but he can define issues and get ahead of the socialists in the Democratic party. Three major items should be worked on and given support: Strong national defensse, lower taxex, and smaller government.

Joyce HowardIrving, TXDecember 3, 2008Jeff Flake or Jeb Hensarling would make excellent members for the appropriations committee. Both are honest, energetic fiscal conservatives and that is what we need to try to stem the flood of socialistic spending that the Democrats will wish to approve.
Russell HoogeShell Knob, MODecember 3, 2008Rep. Flake is popular with all those that believe that government should be limited in size and scope, and that the duty of government is to stop wasteful spending not encourage it!!
David BrownVersailles, KYDecember 3, 2008We need Rep. Jeff Flake on the House Appropriations Committee. We need a conservative to help in these troubling times. Sincerely David K. Brown

Dorinda CourtineAshville, NYDecember 3, 2008Please put Rep. Flake on the Appropriations Committee. We need to get back to conservative principles.
Ralph GoodsonVero Beach, FLDecember 3, 2008Please, get Jeff Flake on the appropriations committee. We desperately need more people with some sense of fiscal responsibility on the Appropriations committee. By the way, all Republicans should support his stands, no matter if it does cost you an earmark or two.

Robert Ruh Jr.Westerville, OHDecember 3, 2008Rep. Flake should be seated on the House Appropriations Committee. It's about time the Republicans showed some teeth with their conservative convictions, instead of the limp "me-too-but-less" philosophy that rendered our House representatives numerically irrelevant.

Jerry BauerNorth Platte, NEDecember 3, 2008Please consider Jeff Flake to the approprations committee, I believe he would be a good fit for this committee. Thanks.
Charles DurandMaryville, TNDecember 3, 2008America desperately needs fiscal responsibility beyond the earmark mentality that is our usual way of business. The long journey begins with one step- support Congressman Flake for the Republican seat on the Appropriations Committee.
James RaderIndianapolis, INDecember 3, 2008Republicans need to re-establish their core values as fiscal conservatives. We lost power in the past elections because Republicans favored huge spending increases and abandoned their mantle of watching out for the taxpayer. Rep. flake is a first step toward restoring the voters faith in Republican core values.
Bob BurtonAustin, TXDecember 3, 2008Jeff would be an excellent steward and advocate for prudent expenditure of citizens tax money. Although conservative he is also practical in terms of the priorities for investment in the country.
J. Marshall SayeChesterfield, MODecember 3, 2008x
Dorothy RichardNorcross, GADecember 3, 2008Stop pork barrel spending. Put Jeff Flake on the Appropriations Committe and prove that you are "for the people, by the people" not Big Government.
Carey PierceNewton, MADecember 3, 2008x
Thomas RipkeWashington, DCDecember 3, 2008x
Kenneth HeinChandler, AZDecember 3, 2008We need responsible fiscal leadership in the Congress to curtail the unbridled spending being advocated by those who can't say "no" or tell a good program from a bad one. At the top of this list is any funding being ear-marked to support those in this country illegally. No amnesty and no funding to advance the cause of any one in the USA illegally. We need Congressman Flake to stand firm on these matters and lead the way for those who just don't understand.
Dan AdamsonSt. Paul, MNDecember 3, 2008x
Philip DanteMount Vernon, NYDecember 3, 2008Fiscal conservatives like Jeff Flake are needed now more than ever, during this era of enormous bailouts, etc. He should be selected for the House Appropriations Committee.
