Ernest LaneTrinity, FLJanuary 20, 2008Republicans are supposed to be opposed to wasteful government spending. Prove it.
Shannon FattaStatesville, NCJanuary 20, 2008Please apooint Flake. The people need him in that position.
Jim CampbellRiver Edge, NJJanuary 20, 2008This is seriously needed if the GOP wants to keep the support of conservatives. Especially in light of the RNCs & NRSCs disgraceful action of supporting that radical liberal Lincoln Chaffe in the primarys during the last election cycle.
Adam ShamahBellmore, NYJanuary 20, 2008Prove that you're serious about restoring the public's faith in the GOP.
Chuck WilsonCleveland, OHJanuary 20, 2008Please give me a reason to have faith in the future of the republican party.

malcolm mitchellroseville, CAJanuary 20, 2008I support the appointment of Jeff Flake to the House Appropriations Committee. He has a solid track record of restricting earmarks that are often wasteful expenditures of hard-earned taxpayer dollars.

Sandra ManziAnderson, SCJanuary 20, 2008I also support jeff Flake, it's about time our government start hearing THE PEOPLE THAT PUT THEM THERE. We need his positive attitude and our "Party" needs it also.
Gene SoleimGrand Forks, NDJanuary 20, 2008I think Jeff Flake would be a good addition to the appropriations committee. But he is only one voice to stop this nonsence spending. The people of this country need to stand up and be heard. Good luck.

Edward (Ned) McGovernSummit, NJJanuary 20, 2008We need Rep. Jeff Flake's positive attitude and willingness to stand up to the spenders.
Joseph GrivoisManchester, NHJanuary 20, 2008Never fails. No matter how bad things get for "We, the taxpayer", the self serving pols make sure they get theirs first. Trouble is, they just never can seem to find time to solve our problems. With Jeff Flake being one of the rare "representatives", I insist he gets a slot on appropriations!
Louis HIllWaco, TXJanuary 20, 2008I support what Rep Flake is doing. Period
Kathleen CooperOceanside, CAJanuary 20, 2008Right on! I support this man's actions.

Peter LindsayGreensboro, NCJanuary 20, 2008Integrity first.
Bill StemlerCloverdale, INJanuary 20, 2008For calendar year 2007, just my personal payroll tax deductions, were over $14,000.00. $14,000.00 per year would improve my standard of living as well as get me in a better financial position for retirement. At this time I get virtually nothing from the Federal and state governments for these deductions. I'm sick and tired seeing my hard earned dollars going to give aways to someone else or some organization that doesn't hold to my value system, for example Planned Parenthood among a long list of others. I expect every dollar of pork eliminated from the Federal budget. I expect Federal expenditures to be based on Constitutional limitations, exclusively. No more free give aways, none!
Ronald DeliaHenderson, NVJanuary 20, 2008Who are you people and what have you done with MY old Republican Party? Put Jeff Flake on the House Appropriations Committee.
Lydia MartinezEl Paso, TXJanuary 19, 2008Jeff Flake truly is a fiscal conservative who want to trim the pork. Please appoint him.
Charles BakerHouston, TXJanuary 19, 2008Please support Republican Jeff Flake.
Ryan OlsonHolmen, WIJanuary 19, 2008Please return the Republican Party to the one of limited government and fiscal discipline. Appointing Rep. Flake to the House Appropriations Committee is a great start.
Seth HippleAlexandria, VAJanuary 19, 2008If the GOP wants the continued support of conservatives, something needs to change. NOW! Jeff Flake can make that happen and supporting him will show conservatives that you mean business.
Tripp BassSavannah, GAJanuary 19, 2008Our country desperately needs strong, positive, fiscal stewardship in ALL areas of government. Then, hopefully, our citizens will follow suit and the U.S. economy will once again be robust.
Carol LarwoodCasselberry, FLJanuary 19, 2008support rep. flake
Bill McMahonLake Havasu City, AZJanuary 19, 2008Please put Jeff Flake on the Appropriations to stop the wasteful earmarks. It is destroying the country.
John BelanichPort Washington, NYJanuary 19, 2008Make each appropriation bill a single issue bill; no attachments or earmarks. Name the writers and supporters of each bill.
David E. WileyRoseville, CAJanuary 19, 2008x
Linda WeyandCortez, COJanuary 19, 2008Please put Rep. Flake on the Appropriations Committee. This country cannot continue to spend money it does not have. We need smaller government. Thank You.
Lyle TophamSaratoga, CAJanuary 19, 2008Kill the pork!!
Donna RookChicago, ILJanuary 19, 2008Republicans lost in 2006 because of the "spending, stupid," not Iraq. Putting Rep. Flake on the appropriations committee would demonstrate recognition of the spending problem and willingness to change
Al LeeMount Vernon, ILJanuary 19, 2008Put Rep. Flake and stop all those wasteful Congressional earmarks!!
Curt Loosliorem, UTJanuary 19, 2008please put Rep Flake to the appr. comm. and allow some balance to congrss. thanks much, Curt
Joyce SweigardCamp Hill, PAJanuary 19, 2008Congressman Boehner, federal spending is out of control,we need you to fight hard to appoint Jeff Flake to the appropriations committee. I am sure you will agree, we need responsible people on this committee. Thank you, Joyce Sweigard

William GrambschEden Prairie, MNJanuary 19, 2008Dear Mr. Boehner, There is no way to continue this spending spree. It has to end and we need Earmarks to go. It is legal bribery. As we slip into recession we need fiscal restraint. We, the Republican Party, will loose more seats in the House and Senate mainly because we deserve it. With a Republican Congress and the White house since 2000 spending has been uncontrolled by the conservative Republican party. We desperately need fiscal restraint so appoint Jeff Flake to the appropriations committee. William Grambsch
Max GoodspeedZephyrhills, FLJanuary 19, 2008x
Barry McCainLa Jolla, CAJanuary 19, 2008x
Julie ZugLancaster, PAJanuary 19, 2008Earmarks for one state is plunder from another. Stop it. It is un-American.
George StottHuntsville, TXJanuary 19, 2008The chief reason that my wife and I have not sent contributions to the Republican National Committee in the last two quarters is because of the runaway pork barrel spending that Republicans allowed to get through when they were in control of both the Senate and the House. We hope that will change soon. Please appoint Mr. Jeff Flake to the Appropriations Committee for a move in the right direction. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. George Stott
Donald SaumRoswell, GAJanuary 19, 2008As an Old Conservative vs. a Neo Conservative, Rep. Flake sounds like an excellent choice for the Appropriations Committee!

Daniel HudsonAstoria, NYJanuary 19, 2008We need more Jeff Flake, not less.
Judith HannanStagecoach, NVJanuary 19, 2008The American people have finally opened their eyes to the fact that our Country is nearly bankrupt. Out of control spending through 'pork barrel projects' is a great part of this debacle. Rep. Flake can help to put us back on track by reigning in this runaway waste of taxpayer monies.
Joseph CostaSun City, CAJanuary 19, 2008x
MaryEllen LempaForest View, ILJanuary 19, 2008We need Cong. Jeff Flake on the Appropriations Committee to be an advocate and ombudsman for us taxpayers.
Jerome C. BordenLayton, UTJanuary 19, 2008Eleven thousand earmarks in one year is obscene. Congressman Flake can help cure that situation.
Deborah RieckmannBelleair, FLJanuary 19, 2008Thanks, to the Sunlight Foundation Americans are waking up to the fact that politicians are using millions of taxpayer dollars to benefit their lifestyles and political coffers. I hope that through the appointment of Rep. Flake to the Appropriations Committee a signal will be sent to the general populace that the politicans still respect the voice of the people. We are watching our pols. much more closely than in the past. Words mean nothing to us anymore, we want action. I was really, happy when Trent Lott (the RINO DINO) finally left. Please, put a man with scruples in his place so, that we might finally have a champion for our National Interest instead of special interests.
Vladimir J SalavaDurham, NCJanuary 19, 2008Stop the foolishness, and stop the earmarks.

Dr.& Mrs Susan NicolShorewood, ILJanuary 19, 2008Earmarks are dishonest and disgraceful abuse of OUR money You have an obligation to appoint a staunch opponent of them. DO IT !
Timothy BeattyEmmett, IDJanuary 19, 2008Here our party has a chance to start rebuilding its critical conservative foundation, whithout which we leave the country to the socialists!

Chris WagvikAlbuquerque, NMJanuary 19, 2008We need to limit spending for the sake of our country's future. NEVER should public funds go to a particular state. That is what state taxes are for.

FRED DINNSENPrescott, AZJanuary 19, 2008We think adding Jeff Flake to the Appropriations Committee would be a significant asset and send a message that the Republicans are returning to Jeffersonian principles.
Regan RobbinsMesa, AZJanuary 19, 2008No more earmarks!!
Patrick Brophy Port Richey, FLJanuary 19, 2008GOP wise-up and return to true conservative ways or we will all lose and the left will keep gaining. Elect Jeff Flake now!
Troy NaveManhattan, KSJanuary 19, 2008Please bring some sanity to the congress.
Michael McQuadeWest Brookfield, MAJanuary 19, 2008x
Vincent MayfieldNiceville, FLJanuary 19, 2008We the people want NO, Zip, Zero, Nada earmarks as they are bad for America. Those who push or sponsor earmarks should be publicly embarrassed by having their activities published. Each budget item should stand on it own in the light of day. No backroom deals.
Linda RunbeckCircle Pines, MNJanuary 19, 2008As a former state legislator in MN during the years Republicans were making great gains (both state and federal), I have to say the Republican GOB in leadership. Get Flake into leadership (give him some nationwide communication resources) and Americans will understand the huge difference between conservatives and liberals! Linda Runbeck, State Senator-MN (ret.)
Rense JohnsonOklahoma City, OKJanuary 19, 2008Recently Fred Barnes said on Brit Hume's Special report (Fox)that the most politically powerful move the Republicans could make would be to forgo and disavow all earmarks. Earmarks require "Logrolling," meaning that for one congressman to get his he must vote for everyone else's — responding to lobbyists and a conspiracy to steal from the taxpayers.
Bobby HollyLongview, TXJanuary 19, 2008x
Bruce KoeddingBloomfield Hills, MIJanuary 19, 2008As a retired Army Officer, I believe earmarks should all but be eliminated from the Federal Budget. I was shocked as an Action Officer on the Army Staff in the Pentagon in 1990-93 to see unrelated budget lines (earmarks) inserted in the Army's budget. I strongly recommend that Rep. Jeff Flake be put on the Appropriations Committee to help reduce and all but eliminate this wasteful spending. Earmarks should be able to stand on their own merit. Enough is enough!
