Ronald ParatNorridge, ILJanuary 19, 2008This is a critical time for our economy. Change needs to start at home with a balanced budget! The tax payers of this country can only support so much and until war expenditures get reigned in we cannot keep spending and sinking!! Change NOW!
Carol DriesenSan Jose, CAJanuary 19, 2008x
Lester LobSebring, FLJanuary 19, 2008I have herd the statement from a Democrat Congressmen that "Pork Spending" is allowed for in the Constitution of the united States. Apparently him aloong with many others believe that Section 2 reads to allow this because all spending must originate in the House of Representatives. Only a Lawyer of Politition could fracture the constitution to believe this.

B. W. Tony & Catherine L WoodZephyrhills, FLJanuary 19, 2008The Republican party made and then broke the Contract With America.. They lost the backing of fiscally reponsible citizens and alienated the very base of American support that gave them their support because of that sacred covenant. A covenant with the American people, as is true of all covenants, is something no one, especially a politican, should take likely. Honor our covenant. Place Jeff Flake in the Appropriations Committee. by Bucky Wood
michael brownwasilla, AKJanuary 19, 2008if we are to survive as republicans we must show fiscal responsibility.
Erich SmithPasadena, TXJanuary 19, 2008The American taxpayer needs someone to stand up for them, this appointment would show that the Republican party might be that someone.
Ross PharVersailles, KYJanuary 19, 2008I support Jeff Flake for appointment to the Appropriations Committee. We need a man of integrity to hold this position - someone who still holds true to the Republican ideals of limited government and fiscal responsibility. Jeff Flake is that man.

Kenneth CampbellMesa, AZJanuary 18, 2008I, as a Republican, storngly urage you to assign Jeff Flake to the open seat on the Apporpriaations Committee. I also urge you to contact the GOP Presidential Candidates and suggest that they, too, come out for this assignment. It would, in my opinion, encourage Independents to vote Republican.
David HarrisRye, NHJanuary 18, 2008Republicans win when they stick to fiscal responsibility. Let's get back to winning!
Doyl L Watson IIAurora, COJanuary 18, 2008The Republican party is on the verge of losing its relevance due in part to a lack of fiscal restraint and other conservative issues. The government has been expanded when it should be shrunk. If we hope to save our Republic we must repent elect someone who will pull in the reins.
HERBERT DIMMITTOVERLAND PARK, KSJanuary 18, 2008x
Robert MooreWilliamsburg, VAJanuary 18, 2008Jeff has the greater interests of the country's welfare at heart. He is an effective champion of us all. He deserves to be placed on the Committee.

william smithNEW CASTLE, NHJanuary 18, 2008Rep Flake stands for stopping boondoggle spending in Congress. His apppointment to Appropriations would send a signal that Republicans are finally getting serious about spending.

Fred E. L:ewisAvoca, NYJanuary 18, 2008x
Jerry MalachowskiHamburg, NYJanuary 18, 2008It's time for our Republican friends in Congress to renew the Contract with America and return to the stature we attained in the '90's. You can start by making it Flake!
Gail SticeWestville, OKJanuary 18, 2008x
Robert WarrenNorwood, GAJanuary 18, 2008If the Republicans can not convince the Congress that the nefarious practice of "earmarking" is a dastardly deed, then the people of the United States need to find a third party that can.
Diane ClaryTalent, ORJanuary 18, 2008x
Diane ClaryTalent, ORJanuary 18, 2008Jeff Flake would be a breath of fresh air on the Appropriations Committee! We are tired of the corruption and wasteful spending we have been subjected to by both Democrats and Republicans. Please let us see something good coming from the Republican Party for once! Otherwise, you may be seeing us voting for a serious Third Party candidate!!!
David TownsendSaint Charles, MOJanuary 18, 2008True Conservatives are for limited goverment and limited goverment power. Sounds like we need Jeff Flake on the apropiations commitee. I hope he also supports the Fair Tax!

Bill FITZPATRICKJacksonville, NCJanuary 18, 2008Stop the crazy spending. Make it Flake!
Howard HechtSeymour, CTJanuary 18, 2008It's time for Republicans to act like Republicans. Appoint Jeff Flake to the House Appropriations Committee, and prove to us voters that there really is a difference in the parties. Frankly, it is getting harder and harder to tell the difference when one looks at out of control, absurd spending of OUR money.
Janet SicilianoEden Prairie, MNJanuary 18, 2008I strongly urge you to appoint Mr. Flake to the appropiations committee. We need to cut spending, and earmarks are an important start. I am tired of politics as usual. Make a change!!
Rick GraftonEdina, MNJanuary 18, 2008We need to retake the high ground when it come to putting a stop to the runaway spending by the government. Mr. Flakes appointment to the House Appropriations Comittee sounds like a good start.

Virginia KempMilford, OHJanuary 18, 2008x
Diana GoodgerEureka Springs, ARJanuary 18, 2008I just received a survey from the RNC. I read it, screamed a couple of times, and threw it away. The Republican party needs to demonstrate that they have returned to respon-sible, conservative principles to recover support from the citizens. So far, they mostly have shown that they are politicians playing 'business as usual' and 'power to the incumbent'.
Al KausesMary Esther, FLJanuary 18, 2008House Minority Leader Boehner; How it pains me to use that word minority, Jeff Flake will help us retake the Congress. With your hard work and Jeff's on the Appropiations Cmte. Thanks and keep fighting.

Roger SchiagerGold Canyon, AZJanuary 18, 2008Congressman Boehner: You need a Congressman like Jeff Flake on the House Appropriations Committee, who will stand up and be counted to oppose wasteful and excessive spending and particularly opposing pork projects and earmark spending. What has happened to the Republicans who are supposed to oppose pork? Help to re-institute a fiscally responsible Congress by appointing Mr. Flake to the Committee.

Nancy ShavePauls Valley, OKJanuary 18, 2008Congress has got to stop the pork spending. It has got to be the most selfish, uncaring, unpatriotic acts by members of our government who have been entrusted with the welfare of all the citizens of this country. Please appoint Flake to the Appropriations Committee. He seems to have good convictions to stop the spending. Thank You. Nancy Shave
Ed KedzierskiWarrenton, VAJanuary 18, 2008Dear Represenative Boehner I strongly urge you to appoint Rep. Jeff Flake to the House Appropriations committee and let's get the ball rolling on re-instituting a fiscally responseble Congress.
Jerry SicardSpring Park, MNJanuary 18, 2008We need a man who is willing to stand and say enough is enough. Period!! Thank You Jeff Jerry Sicard
Barbara HarrellUnion, MOJanuary 18, 2008My husband and I are sick of all the greed/earmarks/pork that Congress is addicted to. When we are counting pennies to pay for high gas bills, now higher grocery bills, and property taxes. When will something be done to make life a bit more comfortable for the middle class and for seniors? We used to be excited to get behind a candidate and now we're to the point where we don't care who is in Congress. We have always been Republicans and we loved the Reagan ideas. But what happened to our Party? We need people like Delay, Talent, and Helms to get our government more fiscally responsible. LOWER OUR TAXES! MAKE THE TAX CUTS PERMANENT! GET RID OF THEE MARRIAGE PENALTY TAX AND DEATH TAX CUTS PERMANENTLY. Barbara and Ken Harrell
Harold GrenningElkhorn, WIJanuary 18, 2008It is good to know that someone is still concerned about the out of control Congressional spending.
Ronaldus MagnusSaint Charles, ILJanuary 18, 2008To sit back hoping that someday, some way, someone will make things right is to go on feeding the crocodile, hoping he will eat you last - but eat you he will. ---Ronald Reagan Best of luck, Jeff.
James KeefeWhite Bear Lake, MNJanuary 18, 2008Please return fiscal responsibility to the Republican party. Appoint Congressman Flake to the appropriations committee now! We are ALL tired of pork!
Jim DolanMesa, AZJanuary 18, 2008Please take action on the out-of-control spending disaster going on in Congress. Jeff is one of the few I see with a conscience and one of the few I trust to stand up to the abuse. Get Flake on that Appropriations Committee.
Jacie HammBuffalo, MOJanuary 18, 2008Fiscal discipline should be a foundation of the Republican Party. The lack of discipline is part of the reason the Republicans lost control of congress, several in jail and others/former members under indictment. Please appointment Congressman Flake to the appropriations committee.
William EgerAltus, OKJanuary 18, 2008x

Ceil LottWilkes Barre, PAJanuary 18, 2008I am very unhappy with the idea that Republicans are as fiscally self-serving and populist-minded as the Democrats are. What is needed is fiscal conservative like Jeff Flake to be a sentinel about controling spending.

James SimkinsTucson, AZJanuary 18, 2008Earmark spending must stop. Good luck Jeff!!
Eddie FergusonGardendale, ALJanuary 18, 2008Republicans must return to what they used to stand for: Less Government & Less Taxes!!!
Patrick BallHouston, TXJanuary 18, 2008Which is more effective for your congressional re-election - Me paying my taxes or me seeing some trivial federal government funded "project" in my district? If you feel comfort from those who receive my tax dollars through pork projects, please realize there are far more voters (and tax payers). We are fed up with this re-election scheme.
George Shwab, IIIBrentwood, TNJanuary 18, 2008I have been very disappointed with how Republicans have handled their fiscal responsibility. Eight years and you are acting like Democrats. I am a life long Republican and have contributed in the past but I'm not now and won't until I see some movement in the direction of fiscal responsibility and border control.

KATHRYN GAMBATESERichmond Heights, OHJanuary 18, 2008As an elected city official, I am appalled by the earmark spending pattern in Congress. Municipalities would not dare to do such a thing yet alone live with a deficit like you Feds do. Like many others I am nearly ready to become a registered Independent.
