Robert VaughanWinter Park, FLJanuary 18, 2008Jeff Flake is the kind of guy that we need to rejuvenate the Republican party and stop all of these outrageous earmarks.
Eric SchlottmanMiami, FLJanuary 18, 2008I am deeply concerned about the ballooning debt that the federal govenment has incurred. Emergency situations may require taking on temporary and well-considered debt, but becoming dependent on borrowing to finance routine, ongoing operations is foolish and dangerous. It is only a matter of time until the system must collapse, and a once-powerful nation will be brought to its knees. Appointing a fiscal conservative to the Appropriations Committee would be a wise first step towards restoring some stability and a more hopeful future. The effects on our economy of the current housing loan defaults will seem miniscule by comparison if our federal government is unable to meet its obligations. I hope the Republicans will reconsider their drift from their historical position of limited government and take leadership in this area of critical and urgent need.
Christopher WarnagirisCamp Lejeune, NCJanuary 18, 2008Stop wasting my money.

Richard JansenRichmond, VAJanuary 18, 2008With the Democrats close to winning the presidency and the Republicans continuing to compromise their principles on the alter of re-election, we are close to loosing our country to the Loony Left. Let's not just win a battle, why not start winning the war.
J. Suzanne LangthorneHanover, MAJanuary 18, 2008x
Scott KilgrasMedford, ORJanuary 18, 2008It's time to stop talking about cutting spending and to start doing something about it. Please appoint Jeff Flake to the House Appropriations Committee.
Walter EnglandNorfolk, VAJanuary 18, 2008As a fiscal conservative I am shocked that the Rep. party has their hands filled with PORK. THIS MUST STOP AT ONCE! This money wasted is obscene and makes me sick to my stomach. You in political office, need to get it together before WE THE PEOPLE vote you out of your job. STOP wasting our money on a bunch of useless so-called 'projects'.
Jody WrightLong Beach, CAJanuary 18, 2008Please show us that you are serious about ending wasteful spending by appointing Congressman Flake to the Appropiations Commitee. I live in the very fiscally irresponsible state of California and know firsthand how damaging governmental excess can be.
Diana LiberatoreCarmel, INJanuary 18, 2008x
Richard JenkinsHillsdale, MIJanuary 18, 2008This a great idea to let grass roots people (like me) respond. Thankyou
ANNE McCoyColumbia, SCJanuary 18, 2008If the Republicans are serious about their Reagan legacy & want to win in 2008,then you Republican politicians should show your commitment to end wasteful earmark spending by appointing Rep. Flake to the House Appropriations Comm.
Al HaberstrohNovi, MIJanuary 18, 2008As a fiscal conservative I am very close to abandoning your party because of wasteful spending and the terrible explosion of earmarks in spending bills. If you do not appoint Rep. Flake to the Appropiations Commitee I will assume that you perfer self interest and waste to good government and will look elsewhere for representation.
John J. EdelHouston, TXJanuary 18, 2008x
Gerald BrownDetroit, MIJanuary 18, 2008x
Michael NotzonVictoria, TXJanuary 18, 2008If Rep. Flake is not acceptable for a position on the Appropriations Committee, then the Republican Party no longer represents conservative voters and I will have to look elsewhere for representation.
Bonita SwansonBurnsville, MNJanuary 18, 2008x
Wayne BartonBloomington, MNJanuary 18, 2008As a conservative, a taxpayer, a registered voter and a patriot I call upon the Republicans in the congress to appoint Jeff Flake to the House Appropriations Committee. It is time for the Republicans in congress to be responsible with the funds tht are allocated. IT'S OUR MONEY!!! Be responsible in the way you choose to spend it!
Mastin JacobsHouston, TXJanuary 18, 2008x
Warren MiessenIndianapolis, INJanuary 18, 2008 The people who put you in office deserve better than being sadddled with earmarks and an ever growing government. this has been a big drain on the people and must stop. Jeff Flake is the one who has shown restraint and fiscal responsibility He is the one who should head up the approiations commitee to rein in the budget and irresponsible government. Please see by your vote that he is appointed.
Frank H WeirPlymouth, MNJanuary 18, 2008It is high time for Congress to do something FOR the people instead of TO the people and put someone in charge that is more cincerned with watching our funds rather than OK'ing every piece of pork legislation that comes up!
Paul.D. WagstaffHouston, TXJanuary 18, 2008It is more than time enough to appoint & back Congressman Flake / The Appropriations Committee and return us to genuine fiscal responsibility. I feel he would be a great assett to help our downridden economy / the stock market & the devaluing of our dollar by European Countries (Upcoming World Bank / The Beast). Other countries are invilved also in the Middle East & China.
John EsmayChisago City, MNJanuary 18, 2008x
Christina KraussRidgewood, NJJanuary 18, 2008It is our time, as CONSERVATIVES, not RINOs, to put our money where our mouths are! Or, to take that money away. Fiscal responsibility is one of the most important premises of true conservatism and too many "Republicans" are diminishing the efforts well-intended congressional Republicans every day. Cut the pork, let the retiring government employees go without being replaced and get on with business, not monkey business.
Ken Trojanmatteson, ILJanuary 18, 2008x
Brian ReichenbachLake George, NYJanuary 18, 2008We owe it to America to be the party of the grown-ups again.
Bill bleakleyMyrtle Beach, SCJanuary 18, 2008Our elected officials have created a means of conducting buisness that is easier for them , but not best for the citizens who put them there. There must be a change away from earmarks & towards less government.
James HolbertElkton, VAJanuary 18, 2008x
Robert OddenColumbia Heights, MNJanuary 18, 2008My tax dollars should not be spent getting elected officials in office re-elected. As it is, elected officials are always making it impossible for third parties or serious contenders to get on the ballot and win. If the project was worthwhile, it would have been approved by local voters.
Hal & Melody MapesKaty, TXJanuary 18, 2008x
Chaim KleinSaint Louis, MOJanuary 18, 2008the difference between the republicans and the democrats is Jeff Flake. please restore our faith in the party
Brent Veronpaulina, LAJanuary 18, 2008no more pork
john alexanderrotonda west, FLJanuary 18, 2008It's high time you people got the message that your constituents believe the earmark process is a travesty and you had better fix it. Get Jeff Flake on the Appropriations Committee.
Bob AdairSugarloaf Key, FLJanuary 18, 2008Do the right thing and help bring ethical behavior and responsibility back to the Republican party!
Pam BeltzIssaquah, WAJanuary 18, 2008We're out here living our day to day lives, and we've entrusted our coutry's future to you. That future is not well served by fiscal irresponsibility. Even the recipients of "pork" suffer in the end when they develop the belief that government actually has money to give away. That's my money, and I'd advise you spend it wisely.
Dominic IzzoThe Woodlands, TXJanuary 18, 2008x
Bob WarringerSarasota, FLJanuary 18, 2008x
Milton TylerBig Run, PAJanuary 18, 2008In my county, Jefferson, in PA I have worked hard and long to put and keep Republicans in office. Many of us have been disillusioned by our party. So much so that many Republicans voted Democrat in the 2002,2004,2006 elections. I did not, however I curtailed my donations. If our leaders don't change neither will the electorate. Sad isn't it?

Walter KennedyMilwaukie, ORJanuary 18, 2008We went through this back in the 90's when we put the Republicans in power and they were worse than the Democrats when it come to spending. How can we trust them now. The Republican Party left me and now I am about to register as an Independent.

Robert KellerMesa, AZJanuary 18, 2008Please stop the feeding frenzy for special projects that have no business even being discusssed in Washington DC. The average taxpayer can't effort it and doesn't want it.
Candace BraksickMcLouth, KSJanuary 18, 2008If Republicans ever want to regain the majority in Congress they need to show fiscal responsibility by reining in out-of-control government spending and reducing taxes on hard-working Americans.
Jerry HansenAurora, UTJanuary 18, 2008I guess the only thing to do if the Republican Party does not appoint Rep Flake to this committee is to support a third party candidates this election cycle. This has to stop while we still have a country.
Anthony KusekAlbion, NEJanuary 18, 2008x
Colleen WildnerHarrison Township, MIJanuary 18, 2008Tax payers are fed up with pork! Responsible government is a duty for elected officials. Let's get back to real Republican values. God bless the USA.
Wilford SmithIrmo, SCJanuary 18, 2008x
Don VomhofRoseville, MNJanuary 18, 2008If Republicans ever want to regain the majority in Congress it is important that they show fiscal responsibility. Rep. Flake should be a no-brainer.

John FreemanThe Rock, GAJanuary 18, 2008x
J BeckertBeaufort, SCJanuary 18, 2008x
Brenda HensonWhiting, INJanuary 18, 2008Rep. Flake should be the person to right the wrongs of so many ridiculous earmarks. The American people are TIRED of being ignored and it will no longer be tolerated. We the People sent Congress a message loud & clear last summer about illegal immigration, so keep doing the RIGHT thing and appoint Rep. Flake so he can steer this committee & CUT THE CRAZY SPENDING! The American people will be watching.
Carolyn Ann WidmerJefferson, GAJanuary 18, 2008 It is about time the legal thievery was stopped. The Congress of the U.S. has been corrupt for a very long time and it is time the taxpayers were given a break. Stop the earmarking with Flake on the Appropriations Committee. Carolyn Ann Widmer, Jefferson, Georgia
Sue BeamEighty Four, PAJanuary 18, 2008To win in November the party must show the voter that they are serious about returning the fiscal restraint. Republicans don't support pork spending when it is out of control and it is. Jeff Flake would let the voters know that Republicans are serious about changing their spending habits.
Marc ThomasCross Junction, VAJanuary 18, 2008I believe that Rep. Jeff Flake is the right man to serve on the Appropriations Committee. I am asking you to put him on the Appropriations Committee. May God bless you, your families, your friends, and may God continue to bless the United States of America as long as we bless him in return.
EDWARD BROWNEMELBOURNE, FLJanuary 18, 2008EARMARKS ARE SIMPLY THEFT LEGALIZED BY UNSCRUPULOUS POLITICIANS. STOP THIS NONSENSE--ABOLISH EARMARKS!
jacuelyne tracypalm Beach Gardens, FLJanuary 18, 2008This should be the first of many such moves to let the people know that we are serious about reducing spending!!
Jacquie BraasCopperas Cove, TXJanuary 18, 2008Bring back fiscal responsibility...represent the American people.
Brock NordykeAvondale, AZJanuary 18, 2008x
Paula EldridgeConcord, MAJanuary 18, 2008Getting government spending under control is an absolute first priority for me. This government is so far out of control on their spending I hope it's not too late. This is an issue we all deal with everyday, why can't our government practice the same restraint?
joe halpinJacksonville, FLJanuary 18, 2008x
Audrey MabrayHouston, TXJanuary 18, 2008Back to Basics, please. If you don't have it, you won't and can't spend it. Ever wonder why congress has the lowest confidence ranking of the American citizen than ever before? Gas, Greed and big Government!

Regina MulliganMechanicsville, VAJanuary 18, 2008The spending has to stop. Start thinking of someone other than yourself.

John QuiggEast Williston, NYJanuary 18, 2008x
Douglas PredigerDelray Beach, FLJanuary 18, 2008Fiscal conservatism is our last best hope!
Ben PowellBellaire, MIJanuary 18, 2008Its time; long overdue for a return to fiscal sanity. Congressman Flake has proven himself worthy & well qualified to take on the task.
George KraussCheraw, SCJanuary 18, 2008If congress can spend , spend , spend on nonsense pet "PORK" projects, then they can provide me with sufficient Grant money to get my self out of debt. I served my country and ended up a disabled veteran and this spend crazy congress is what I and my fellow taxpayers get! CAN THE PORK!!
Gladys BellEaton, OHJanuary 18, 2008x
Elaine BehlingTucson, AZJanuary 18, 2008As a citizen of Arizona, I am proud to add my name to this request.
Ted GlaessgenSt. Augustine, FLJanuary 18, 2008It is a crime how Congress spends our hard earned money, a museum for Woodstock? Really..We would be better off if they just stayed home and collected their salary.
James EmeryMount Morris, ILJanuary 18, 2008x
KIM KLEINHENZDELLROY, OHJanuary 18, 2008x
Elsa BandiGlenview, ILJanuary 18, 2008It is imperitive that th Republican party return to its basic principles of fiscal responsibility. We must rein in spending for favorite 'projects' and channel the funds into protection of our country. The tax cuts are sustainable only if we reduce spending.

Stanton L. WhitneyPalm Harbor, FLJanuary 18, 2008Only by constant exposure can we eliminate earmarks and those Members who sponsor them. Hopefully, Jeff Flake will be appointed and provide the voters with a list of useless projects like the proposed "Drug" Memorial at Woodstock!
Doris BaileyTyndall, SDJanuary 18, 2008x
Mary ShoemakerApache Junction, AZJanuary 18, 2008Earmarks should stand alone, not the sneaky way these politicians are doing it.
Judith MoodyVilla Rica, GAJanuary 18, 2008It would be a great start to stop the pork barrel spending and then maybe we could stop giving money to enemy countries. Hey, and the way to fix SS is to stop Congress from being able to spend it.
Edward B. TiernanPhiladelphia, PAJanuary 18, 2008Earmarks should be voted on in public and on the record so everyone can see who is "RAPING" our tax dollars. Send Jeff Flacke to the Appropriations Committee as a voice of sanity
Carolyn WhitakerMonte Sereno, CAJanuary 18, 2008Make earmarks extremely visible... with the names of those who propose them and Constitutional justifications for all of them.
Charles FortmeyerBox 2621, AEJanuary 18, 2008Where are earmarks specified in the constitution...???
