NameCityDateComments
Dennis LantzSanta Rosa, CAJanuary 18, 2008The GOP can't out-spend the Democrats, and shouldn't try. It's time to move the USA back to responsibility.
Valentine MartinAntelope, CAJanuary 18, 2008The time has come for a halt to unbridled spending by the jokers in Government. Time has come and passed. We are not going to vote for an irrisponsible bunch of nuts from any political Party. Give us only this Flacke, Jeff Flacke in The House Appropriations Committee.
Gail WiltseBellingham, WAJanuary 18, 2008As a supporter of Ron Paul I heartily endorse Rep. Flake for this position. He is obviously a good man if he wants a return to the Republican party's roots of smaller, limited government. I hope Rep. Paul considers him as a running mate when he wins the nomination.

Brad ZinnGlendale, AZJanuary 18, 2008As an native Arizonian, I fully support Rep. Flake for this appointment. It will show seriousness on the part of the National Republican Party to regain the trust of the American people. It will only help our electoral chances in the Fall. Please Make It Flake!
David WalterLivermore, CAJanuary 18, 2008We need FLAKE!
Ian BusherBerkeley, CAJanuary 18, 2008I am a small government Democrat. I support Flake for appointment to the appropriation committee. If there is one thing that republicans could do to gain the trust of the electorate it is to fight against pork and Flake is the man to show you care. There is a movement in America, we are sick and revolted of politicians spending billions on bribes to their constituency. This movement grows with each appropriations bill.
Hugh WilliamsOmaha, NEJanuary 18, 2008I support the efforts to contain and strictly limit spending by the federal government. I favor retaining the Bush tax cuts, but ONLY if we restrain spending!

CHUCK KIRKHUFFTEMPE, AZJanuary 18, 2008The last Republican Congress was a disgrace and an embarrassment. It's long past time for leadership to learn the lesson of 2006. Restore credibility by appointing Jeff Flake.

Marjorie ReganWoburn, MAJanuary 17, 2008Now that we have the opportunity to show our citizens that we can get back to true conservative ethics, values and end the wasteful spending, I am urging you to allow Jeff Flake to get us back on track economically! We still have time to prove that we (Republicans) have returned to common sense and putting the nation on the correct fiscal road.
Carter Hartcorsicana, TXJanuary 17, 2008x
Cathleen SweeneyCosta Mesa, CAJanuary 17, 2008stop irresponsible spending!
Ervin and Mary DennaMapleton, UTJanuary 17, 2008The elected Republicans need to get back to conservative issues, or the base will not stick with them. Jeff Flake can and will do what is needed to help bring our elected Republicans back in line with real conservative values.

Peter MaloneSt. Charles, ILJanuary 17, 2008The Republican Party cannot be a carbon copy of the other (Marxist) party. We have had the greatest success when we took a firmly conservative stand and articulated our positions. Earmarks must end, the border must be sealed, etc., and let's pass the FairTax!
Dr. Ray SandborghCottage Grove, MNJanuary 17, 2008Ask John Kline what he wants to do. Follow his advise.
Loree DredgePark City, KSJanuary 17, 2008This is one of my biggest concerns.
Warren LoadholtRoselle, NJJanuary 17, 2008the lodestone of Reaganomics and fiscal conservtism is the determination to take care when spending the taxpayers' money.a party which long has been identified as an amalgam of social and fiscal conseratives cannot countenence irresponsible porkbarreling! stop the earmarks!make it Jeff Flake!

Raynell LocklarTampa, FLJanuary 17, 2008No more pork barrel spending!!!!!!!!!!!!
Neal ClacherLivingston, TNJanuary 17, 2008I just went to Jeff's web page and listened to his speeches on earmarks, he seems to have it right. Go back to conservative principles, less spending, lower taxes.Keep the money for the border fence and agents is in the budget. You Republicans push to build refineries in the country, not some island nation, and drill our oil.
Beth VolkmanCalistoga, CAJanuary 17, 2008x
William CooperAlbuquerque, NMJanuary 17, 2008Earmarks are funds provided by Congress that “circumvents the merit based or competitive allocation process” (Office of Management and Budget. http://earmarks.omb.gov/). Let the sunshine on this abuse of taxpayer money!
gary edensjacksonville, FLJanuary 17, 2008Stop the waste, Jeff!
Charles MaggardDallas, ORJanuary 17, 2008 NO MORE EARMARKS!!!!!!!!!
William BergenBurnsville, MNJanuary 17, 2008The current approval rating for congress is currently at 11% and headed to zero. Flake can help your rating.
john obrienMinneapolis, MNJanuary 17, 2008x
Phil JordanIncline Village, NVJanuary 17, 2008I would consider returning to the Republican party if Mr. Flake is appointed to the Appropriations committee. Since the Republican party cannot differentiate itself from the Democrats on many issues, I switched to Libertarian. Give me a reason to return.
Andrew EnglesbeSonoma, CAJanuary 17, 2008speak out against 'stimulus' silliness while you're at it, and continue to push for cuts in marginal tax rates - starve the Leviathan
Lou Ellen BrownHughes Springs, TXJanuary 17, 2008If anybody can do anything to get the porkers away from the trough, GET HIM OR HER IN THERE AND TURN OFF THE SPIGOT. If this is the right person, I will pray for him and the rest of our legislators to use the public trust that you all signed on for...as PUBLIC SERVANTS, NOT SELFSERVERS.
Samuel RindgeSouth Pasadena, CAJanuary 17, 2008x
Adam DeClercqAnaheim, CAJanuary 17, 2008It is time that my hard earned money be spent on reasonable, rational items in a responsible way. I will support any person in government that will help make it so.
Judy JohansenCastana, IAJanuary 17, 2008 Republicans in Washington if you keep out conservatives you will lose more conservatives out side of your mystical world. Yes we conservatives are still out here just not supporting your liberal views.
Bob WelkerShelley, IDJanuary 17, 2008If we are to survive financially as a nation and it's citizens we need Jeff Flake as a part of the team to hold the reins on unnecessary and excessive spending.
Jeff JensenMaplewood, MNJanuary 17, 2008Clean it up, Flake!
George AdamsIdaho Falls, IDJanuary 17, 2008The Republican Party, of which I have been a member since registering to vote, has abandon its commitment to limited governmental spending. Instead, Republican congress members have either winked at the disgustingly and covertly dishonest practice of earmarking, or wantonly participated in it. In either case, the rank and file of the party, as well as the nation as a whole are being betrayed. It is high time to put the brakes on this porcine excess. We, the nation, need a stalwart voice on the Appropriations Committee who will put every example of this reprehensible practice squarelyl in the limelight. Representative Jeff Flake is such a man. The practicioners of earmarking deserve to be exposed for the manipulating and hypocritical people that they are - buying votes in their constituencies while pushing the nation, as a whole, deeper into an economic morass.
Boyd McClureNokesville, VAJanuary 17, 2008x
Laura BasballeApple Valley, MNJanuary 17, 2008Representative Flake stands for earmark reform, just like my MN Congressional heroes, Michelle Bachmann and John Kline.

William WalkerHouston, TXJanuary 17, 2008If you do not as a party show that you are willing to actually do something about earmarks, then you can expect a significant portion of your core voters to stay home just as they did in 2006. Then you have to get your people on the news shows and brag about how you did what the Democrats would not do! That is how to win the fight.
patsy becharapacifica, CAJanuary 17, 2008x
Larry MacekDover, PAJanuary 17, 2008I agree with those that say we lost the '06 elections because we strayed from the conservative doctrine of eliminating earmarks and pork barrel spending. Appoint Rep. Flake now!!
ronald kohlport townsend, WAJanuary 17, 2008Earmarks and pork barrel spending must stop. A balanced budget has to be made permanent.
Ray BannanPasadena, TXJanuary 17, 2008x
Frank RhinehartPhillipsburg, MOJanuary 17, 2008When the GOP took control of Congress after 40 years of Dem. dominance, I expected fiscal restraint. Instead my party, just like the Dems., to my profound disappointment, tried to buy votes with taxpayer's money. Please! End earmarks and return to fiscal sanity. No more "bridges to nowhere" or any other special interest project that wouldn't survive open debate.
William BensonOdessa, FLJanuary 17, 2008Congressman Flake is EXACTLY what is needed to bring fiscal sanity to the House. Pray that he rubs off on Congressmen J. Lewis and C.W. Bill Young.
