Robert StoneChristiansburg, VAJanuary 17, 2008Today here is a great need for the application of common sense to fiscal problems brought about by Congress. Jeff Flake can make a difference. He will help eliminate pork and we need that help.
Don CoxWestminster, COJanuary 17, 2008The continued blind sprint to national fiscal disaster must be stopped. Congressional spending is out of control, and as a father and grandfather, I'm appalled at the terrible burden we're placing on them. The solution isn't to increase the tax burden, but to return to the vision our founding father painted of a limited federal government.
Michael HannahDenton, MDJanuary 17, 2008With the war going America's way, this election will be about the economy. You guys are spending the Republicans right out of office. Fiscal restraint is a must!
michael LeiseyMoncure, NCJanuary 17, 2008I am no longer making any contributions to any republicans. Their disregard for this country, is shameful, and I cannot give them any money where I have a choice when they are throwing it away with earmarks.
Mary SantomauroStagecoach, NVJanuary 17, 2008You people in Congress better get it right this time or there may never be another time!
William FitzpatrickWilmington, NCJanuary 17, 2008I have resisted making contributions to the party and send back all requests with a note to "STOP THE EARMARKS" maybe if Jim Flake gets the committee assignment this may finally happen. If not I will continue to withhold my money.
Christy CoolidgeQueen Valley, AZJanuary 17, 2008x
Robert F LikerJoliet, ILJanuary 17, 2008We need to stop the wasteful pork projects. The tax system is broken. The House needs to pass HR25 (FairTax).
Hans HarderHowell, NJJanuary 17, 2008I am semi-retired. The "Semi" is because I must keep working to pay for my various tax bills. Put Congressman Flake on the Appropiations Comm. to help control spending.
Michael MccarthyAustin, TXJanuary 17, 2008I commit to fellow Republicans that I will hold our elected officials to the strongest ethical principles, and vote against those who fail to uphold them.
Janet WebbS. Euclid, OHJanuary 17, 2008Stop the pork now!
Michael WadeHuntersville, NCJanuary 17, 2008We are bankrupting ourselves and both parties are rushing to the trough. It's disgusting. If Jeff Flake will do something - anything - to slow down even one earmark, give the man the job! Otherwise, why have a Republican Party at all?!?
Karen EvansHouston, TXJanuary 17, 2008This waste, fraud, corruption and overspending by Congress has got to stop for the sake of our nation's survival. Please appoint a fiscal conservative to the House Appropriations committee. Our very future depends on it!!!
Kelly FetzerChicago, ILJanuary 17, 2008Stop the wasteful spending!
Mary SchneiderManor, TXJanuary 17, 2008Putting Jeff Flake on the Appropriations Committee would go a long way in helping Republicans regain credibility in Washington. That credibility is sorely needed and sorely lacking as of right now!!!!
Virginia PetersonHernando, MSJanuary 17, 2008Republican Congress, it is time to return to a very conserative way of voteing, or look to be replaced in the next election!!!!!!!!!!!! You are not up there to vote what YOU WANT, but WHAT the VOTERS WANT YOU TO DO!!!!!!!!!!!
Michael ClarkIndianapolis, INJanuary 17, 2008x
Wanda VannSherwood, ARJanuary 17, 2008x
Jane FigueiredoCharlevoix, MIJanuary 17, 2008Jeff Flake has a sterling record fighting pork in Washington - he is on the taxpayers side - shouldn't we have at least ONE member who will put up a good fight against pork? This may help to restore some measure of credibility to the Republican party as the fiscally conservative choice.
Charles MorrisBenton, TNJanuary 17, 2008I believe that fiscal irresponsibility is part of what caused the GOP to lose control of congress..put Jeff Flake on the appropriations committee.
William SmithWoodstock, GAJanuary 17, 2008What a refreshing idea - selecting someone whose philosophy of fiscal responsibility is clear. This would definitely send the right message to Congress, as well as the voters, that the Republican Party really stands for what it says it does.
Robin CampbellHutto, TXJanuary 17, 2008Dear Congress: It's not YOUR money! Pork belongs on the dinner table, not in every bill that leaves Washington. Fiscal responsibility and Constututional adherence should be your first priority.
Brian RichmondFt. Mitchell, KYJanuary 17, 2008x
Wayde ClarkSan Diego, CAJanuary 17, 2008Put someone on the committee whose idea of serving his constituents is to be fiscally responsible.
Stephen DetersSaint Charles, MOJanuary 17, 2008The Republican party will continue to lose ground until it returns to its conservative roots. Putting Rep. Jeff Flack on the appropriations committee would be a great step in the right direction.
William (Bill) BrownFranklin, TNJanuary 17, 2008I liked it better when GOP members saw DC as a cesspool. Now that the GOP sees DC as a hot tub they are no better than Democrats. Put Jeff Flake on the House Appropriations Committee and do it now if you are serious about controling spending.
DON STERNYakima, WAJanuary 17, 2008YES!!Return to fiscal responsibility and limited government principles is the way to regain the trust of the American people!! PREACH IT!! DO IT!!
PAMELA EWALD, WIJanuary 17, 2008I support the Flake effort and urge all to set aside partisanship and special interests to do the same. Ending earmarks is a MUST. The fact that Congress isn't responsible or smart enough to do this on it's own without proding is a tragedy. Pelosi and the Dem majority haven't done so well with their hyped up "ethics" agenda. on 12/31 8,056 earmarks were identified. North Dakota Peace Garden. Montana baseball stadium. Las Vegas history museum. Bike paths. Not now... not with our current fiscal challenges and the state of our failing infrastructure.
Mary BurtonSalem, VAJanuary 17, 2008We need to stop trying to out-liberal the liberals. Get control of spending!
Helen G Brown B-205Willow Street, PAJanuary 17, 2008We need to put an end to all pork barrel spending. A million here and a billion there and pretty soon you have a trillion of wasted money to fill a few corrupted pockets. I remember the plea of the guy from Alaska who apparently shamed the congress into voting for the bridge to nowhere. WIMPS!
Robert ShanorTroy, MIJanuary 17, 2008x
Richard H. HerndonLahoma, OKJanuary 17, 2008These people are wondering how they lost in 06. The problem is they lost creditability with all of their iresponsible spending. If they would return to basics they can win the vote. I still am voting republican but I have to hold my nose on some of these people. Thanks, Richard
Dolores ParkerHerndon, VAJanuary 17, 2008Please GET SERIOUS about controlling earmarks; appoint Jeff Flake to Appropriations and keep faith with your pledge for fiscal conservatism.
martin smithasheboro, NCJanuary 17, 2008x
jo Brockettgolden, COJanuary 17, 2008make it flake, he is the only one that has any sense. The rest of them can be long gone.
STEVE CARTERRIO RANCHO, NMJanuary 17, 2008x
Maureen JuryPlano, TXJanuary 17, 2008We stand at a crossroads. Do we destroy this republic making government bigger than anything else? Or do we turn it around, aligning with conservative principles?
Mike GozdanMt. Laurel, NJJanuary 17, 2008x
Brian PerkinsDallas, TXJanuary 17, 2008I believe in this guy Flake. He gives the rest of the Republicans credibility many don't deserve.
Sandra AleFredericksburg, VAJanuary 17, 2008Pork has GOT to stop and it has to stop with Republicans NOW! I am ashamed of my party over this issue. I expect it from Democrats but not conservatives!
Lee ArthursJasper, GAJanuary 17, 2008x
charles weberMonroe, NYJanuary 17, 2008We need a no pork kinda guy.
James LeggettFlatwoods, KYJanuary 17, 2008x
Gary RajuChicago, ILJanuary 17, 2008The Republicans lost Congress because they spent like Democrats. It is time for the party to show that they truly beleive in limited government. Appoint Jeff Flake now!
Anthony FotiWestmont, NJJanuary 17, 2008x
Armond DunnEdmond, OKJanuary 17, 2008REIN IN SPENDING,seems you want Jeff Flake on the Appropriations Commitee
Anthony FotiWestmont, NJJanuary 17, 2008x
Gary RajuChicago, ILJanuary 17, 2008Republicans lost their base by supporting pork barrell spending. It is time to get back to the party's roots of limited government. Appoint Jeff Flake now!

Anita SpringerAzle, TXJanuary 17, 2008Appoint Jeff Flake to the Appropriations Committee. If the Republicans don't start taking responsibility and stop the nonsense you will lose all of your support.
Darlene JenkinsNewport, NCJanuary 17, 2008You need to get rid of the earmarks, or a lot of Republicans will become Independents. The Republican Party has lost its way.
Glenys PatrickSlidell, LAJanuary 17, 2008I believe Jeff Flake is the man we need to bring some sanity to the Appropriations Committee. My trust is with Jeff Flake. Glenys Patrick
Charles PresleyJohnson City, TNJanuary 17, 2008Either the Republicans start to control spending or they will lose one very stauch fiscal conservative.
Ellen TetraultGrand Forks, NDJanuary 17, 2008GET RID OF THOSE EARMARKS. put Rep. Jeff Flake on the appropriations committee.......
David StromanWaller, TXJanuary 17, 2008No puns here, Just a plea for federal fiscal sanity.
Andrew GomilaNew Orleans, LAJanuary 17, 2008This is a chance to show where you stand on pork. Take the opportunity to stand against Murtha and the like.
Marlene ParrishFlorence, ALJanuary 17, 2008I belive it would help to appoint Rep. Jeff Flake to the Appropriations Committee. I think it would help having closer scrutiny on America's spending!

Lawrence GriffithDeming, NMJanuary 17, 2008 For petes sake, STOP THE EARMARKS (PORK BARREL)
Walter LahmannNorthport, NYJanuary 17, 2008Something must be done to stop the bleeding! Pres. Bush spent too much then the Dems took control of Congress and it got even worse. If Jeff Flake can help stop this, then let's get him on the committee!!!
Keith BRownhigh point, NCJanuary 17, 2008if there is one congressman that needs to be on a committee it is Mr. Flake. He will be a valuable asset to a part of the government that people in the U.S. hate about government
Johnii Bothellwyoming, DEJanuary 17, 2008reminder to politicians - it's our money, spend it with care and caution! Hopefully Jeff Flake is our watchdog!
J. DavidsonCamas, WAJanuary 17, 2008Please put Jeff Flake on the Appropriations Cmte. He is the best fiscal conservative for this job.
William BurkhardtSouth Lyon, MIJanuary 17, 2008John: If you, like I want to see Republicans returned to power in the house and Senate, then appointing Jeff Flake to Appropriations would be a great first step. Let's call the donkeys on their "No More Earmarks" pledge. This would do more good for Good Government than anything I can think of other than ending Gerrymandering.
Irene Stupp[leWimberley, TXJanuary 17, 2008If the republican party is ever able to get control again, they must select Jeff Flake. I haven't quite given up on the republican party but I am close. The selection of Jeff Flake is critical for me to have any confidence in the party.
Bill LaurieMesa, AZJanuary 17, 2008Rep. Jeff Flake should be appointed to House Appropriations Committee to combat the shameless profligate spending by pandering politicians.
