Mark AdkinsonWarr Acres, OKJanuary 16, 2008As someone who has worked in State government for the last 15 years, I know how important it is to get fiscal conservatives such as Rep. Flake into positions of influence so government extravagence can be reined in.

Denise KuhlCreston, IAJanuary 16, 2008One of the keys to winning the Presidency is fiscal conservatism. Jeff Flake represents that to the nation. Appointing him to this position would send a loud message that Republicans are serious about changing Washington's ways of "old".Please appoint Jeff Flake.
Donna EppsLoganville, GAJanuary 16, 2008x
Jill DickmanSparks, NVJanuary 16, 2008You need to stop the Pork if you want to take back the House. The only way to do that is to appoint Jeff Flake. Thanks!

Louis OttMosier, ORJanuary 16, 2008Appoint Jeff Flake. You must get control of excess spending which has ruined the country fiscally, and lost respect for Republicans. Rep. Flake can do it. As it is now, why vote Republican? There is no difference between Republicans and Democrats.

Barbara McArtorBeaufort, SCJanuary 16, 2008As one of the many constituents 'back home', I sincerely hope our elected Republican members in Congress remember we want smaller government and true fiscal responsibility. I shudder to think what voters will do in this next (extremely important) election if our leaders continue to spend like a Democrat: when lines blur remember, voters may become confused on which candidates promises to believe.
John DemmaChandler, AZJanuary 16, 2008Help us stop the crazy spending in Washington! Make it Flake! Thank you

James MauckLas Vegas, NVJanuary 15, 2008x
RJ ManningNewport Beach, CAJanuary 15, 2008Earmarks are a breeding ground for corruption and are part of a culture that has transformed our national government into a casino for narrow interest groups. Major reform is needed to restore the credibility of the federal government that it is serving its citizens well. I registered as a Republican because it advocated limited, effective government, individual liberty and fiscal responsibility. The Reagan Presidency and the Contract with America Congress were proud times for me. However, the GOP seems to have abandoned these values. There have been numerous disappointments over the last several years as the GOP has become a second party committed to big government. My hopes are with Republican leaders such as Jeff Flake and my own Congressman, John Campbell, who work for limited government and fiscal responsibility. Jeff Flake is the Congressional leader in the fight against outrageous earmarks. Those of us who oppose earmarks do not have a voice or a vote in the House Appropriations Committee. I urge you to appoint Jeff Flake to the committee and thank-you for your consideration of my request.
Marius PopaPlano, TXJanuary 15, 2008Give Jeff Flake a chance in the House Appropriations Committee!
Dudley SouthPembroke Pines, FLJanuary 15, 2008x
Betty Jo PowellNew Braunfels, TXJanuary 15, 2008x
Greg PerryMountain View, CAJanuary 15, 2008The GOP needs their brand back. Flake is a big step in the right direction.
Lisa SamuelsonTwin Falls, IDJanuary 15, 2008Republicans are starting to resemble Democrates. Please get back to fiscial responsibility!!! If a state cannot fund its own bike paths they don't need my money to do it!! I DO know better how to spend my own money.
Richard BrengmanGardnerville, NVJanuary 15, 2008I am sick of watching "good republicans" buy office with the taxpayers money! I have been a strict republican voter for 30+ years. If Mr. Flake is not selected to help reform the pork, I will be voting independent or libertarian this election, I truly am sick of the hypocrisy on display by our so called "conservative" congress!

I have refused to support the RNC for years because they have left their principles. PLEASE for once, DO THE RIGHT THING!! Learn from the past mid-term junta.

Lawrence RutherfordAnimas, NMJanuary 15, 2008As a former Barry Goldwater worker and also supporting Ronald Reagan's successful bid for governor of CA. and of course, his very successful presidency, I only have one comment concerning the present Republican congressional group...ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I am a conservative and I'm tired of Congress trying to run my life and steal my money. My wife and I consider ourselves Independent voters in this election.
John BiddleClearwater, FLJanuary 15, 2008The Republican Party needs to return to being the party of limited government and stop competing with Democrats to be the party of unlimited spending. Adding Jeff Flake to the House appropriations committee is an excellent way to show how seriously you take the concept of fiscal conservatism.
Harvey BondMilford, OHJanuary 15, 2008Appoint Jeff Flake to appropriations. We need a tough stance on spending and earmarks.

Joshua WalkerOsceola, INJanuary 15, 2008Republicans are spending as much as Democrats! We should be ashamed that we led spending get out of control as it has the past several years. Jeff Flake has a proven record of standing against earmarking and unnecessary government spending.

margaret KimesHomeworth, OHJanuary 15, 2008The conservative base is an important part of the party. Many of the discouragement conservatives have been feeling is due to lack of reps in positions of importance. Jeff Flake is what conservatives need!!

Donna HillKlamathFalls, ORJanuary 15, 2008I agree that we need to stop "pork barrel" spending and if Jeff Flake will work towards that end, I'm all for his being chosen to this committee.
Evert T. PierceHolladay, UTJanuary 15, 2008I will not support or vote for another incumbent until you guys get something right. The Republican Party does not deserve any support until they start representing the American people instead of representing themselves. And you can plan on me campaigning for new representatives until we get someone who will represent us.
