Jonathan LoveDana Point, CAJanuary 14, 2008If Democrats and Republicans are going to take us to the same destination with big government, high spending, and high corruption then I have NO reason to vote for Republicans. If a congressman wants to spend taxpayer money, at the very least, he should be required to write a bill and get passed by peers on an individual case by case basis. No Flake= no money and no votes!
Glenn HamannMiami, FLJanuary 14, 2008x

Charlene SpreheChandler, AZJanuary 14, 2008We are footing the bill and so we should have the deciding say on this.
Louis WhitacreAuburn, WAJanuary 14, 2008Appointing Congressman Jeff Flake to the House Appropriations Committee would be a much needed step in the right direction. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the Congressman and know he would work very hard to rehabilitate the tarnished reputation of my party, in the house and on a national level.
William HinmanHayfork, CAJanuary 14, 2008x
Alva LundChadds Ford, PAJanuary 14, 2008His appointment will tell the story as to whether Congress has gotten the message from the American People or "back to business as usual"
michaele andersonfriendsville, TNJanuary 14, 2008x
Brian BarrScottsdale, AZJanuary 14, 2008Put Rep. Jeff Flake on the Appropriations Committee
fred roseminneapolis, MNJanuary 14, 2008Republicans strayed from the mantra of the party and began legislating like Democrats. That is why we lost the majority. Please regain the reputation as watchdogs against prolific wasteful spending by appointing Rep Flake to the Appropriations Committee.
Doug MartinDallas, TXJanuary 14, 2008Just say NO!...To Pork.
Debra KruppGold Canyon, AZJanuary 14, 2008x
Mike RookerLongview, TXJanuary 14, 2008x
John ParsonsJupiter, FLJanuary 14, 2008x
Tomas ArmijoLas Vegas, NVJanuary 14, 2008Let it ring out throughout the land, "More Flake, less pork!".
Julia BerryDallas, TXJanuary 14, 2008Jeff Flake would be a strong leader in the House Appropriations Committee. Let's encourage going forward with less wasteful and excessive spending! Let's return to true Republican principles! Very sincerely, Julia Berry, Dallas, TX
Susan BennettMaidens, VAJanuary 14, 2008Republicans lost in 2004 because of their profligate spending - we need to start acting like republicans again and support fiscal discipline. Appounting Rep. Flake to the appropriations committee, encouraging him to expose waste and then backing him up, will be a first step in the right direction. While fiscally bad, earmarks also contribute to corruption!
Robert SuomalaGreen Valley, AZJanuary 14, 2008Jeff Flake will restore the now tarnished image of the Republican Party and show the public there is an alternative to the Democrats' excesses.
Bruce RoosaLorena, TXJanuary 14, 2008We've got more Pork than a truck load of pigs!
David EnsleyJefferson, GAJanuary 14, 2008x
Wayne HydenShreveport, LAJanuary 14, 2008This is imperative for the future of the Republican party. I have supported the party financially up to last year. I am currently discouraged where the party is going. Pork and immigration are my highest concerns.
Carol AllenGilbert, AZJanuary 14, 2008x
Jeff PettettPhoenix, AZJanuary 14, 2008x
michael anderson Mesa, AZJanuary 14, 2008x
Dennis McConnellSurry, MEJanuary 14, 2008My hope is that the Flake appointment to Appropriations will give me sufficient reason to support the Republican Party once again.
I Like PorkWashington, DCJanuary 14, 2008Define shadowy special interest projects. Let's call "earmarks" economic development for our country through congressionally directed spending. Even the President does it through political appointees who set application formulas for grants. A couple of year's ago, the Department of Homeland Security did several hundred million in fire department grants of which 2/3 went to Republican districts.
theresa ferrittoeuclid, OHJanuary 14, 2008x
william demandcleveland, OHJanuary 14, 2008smaller government
angela christophercleveland, OHJanuary 14, 2008someone who cares about the people, for a change
Sherry CooperWashington, PAJanuary 14, 2008x
Sean LionHillsboro, ORJanuary 14, 2008I'd suggest that earmarks be included only as a single issue. That would suggest the request for our tax dollars will have stand on it's own and be debated and decided upon according to it's merits.
Reece EpsteinEncino, CAJanuary 14, 2008x
Bill MeyerRockville, MDJanuary 14, 2008John Boehner; Use your leadership to appoint Jeff Flake to Appropriations.
John BarrattRandlett, UTJanuary 14, 2008Congressman Boehner, Please quit playing politics. Conservative Americans are tired of our government lying to us. If you want to stop earmarks and other government waste give the job to Mr Flake ahd then support him.
Sam TuckerStarkville, MSJanuary 14, 2008x
jack swifthoughton, MIJanuary 14, 2008fiscal responsibility is something that ordinary americans (taxpayers/voters) once recognized as a difference between republicans and democrats. when republican legislators spend like democrats they lose that important differentiation and must campaign on 'touchey-feely' issues which they always lose.
Timothy JonesLovingston, VAJanuary 14, 2008Please make this happen. We need to stop this extravagance and abuse.
Ken RolsethKingman, AZJanuary 14, 2008Earmarks are destroying the integrity of the congressional budget process. Appoint Jeff Flake to restore confidence to your constituencies.

gayle skjervenminneapolis, MNJanuary 14, 2008I want Jeff Flake
Kent SmithBurleson, TXJanuary 14, 2008Republicans need to act like fiscal conservatives and earn the trust of the American people again. Jeff Flake can help you do that!
Roger HannerSioux City, IAJanuary 14, 2008Please appoint Representative Jeff Flake. Let us make a difference. Let us return to limited government before it is too late. Thank you.
patrick neidsan francisco, CAJanuary 14, 2008As a party the Repubs have been a disgrace these last seven years in regards to fiscal restraint. Despite the rhetoric, you and your colleagues have been an embarrassment. It's not by accident that you lost both House's and probably the Presidency in 08. Yours was the party of the bridge to nowhere. At least Dems are honest about their pending pilferage. While cutting spending has not been what you personally prefer, please for once in your life put the country ahead of the party line.
Paul SetaroGlendale, AZJanuary 14, 2008It is time to do something about PORK. Appoint Congressman Flake to the House Appropriations Committee.
Patrice MaloneyWilliston, VTJanuary 14, 2008Return to fundamental conservative principles!
Neera GoiteinNew York, NYJanuary 14, 2008Dear Representative Boehner, Please put Jeff Flake on the House Appropriations Committee. This may turn out to be a year where the Republicans need all the help they can get - giving Rep. Flake a position on this Committee is a way of demonstrating to your people that their voice is heard and thus there is no need for them to stay home and stew on election day. On the contrary, they'll come out in droves and bring their friends. Thank you for your attention, Very sincerely yours, Neera Goitein

Douglas MilliganLexington, KYJanuary 14, 2008Republicans absolutely need to return to be the party of fiscal responsibility. We need Jeff Flake on the appropriations committee.
James LansfordMountain Home, TXJanuary 14, 2008x
Pam JerzakBrookfield, WIJanuary 14, 2008Enough is Enough. I'm so tired of paying for everyone else while my family makes sacrifices to support a government that's suppose to be working for us, not us working for them. Quit the spending. My house if falling into disrepair while our government is worried about frivolous things like bike trails, artwork, outrageous pay for professors, country club type schools, etc. U get my point. Fix it!!

Michael MumfordRockwall, TXJanuary 14, 2008It is clearly long past time to address the earmark issue. Jeff Flake should reside on the committee.
Gerald JohnsonSouth Euclid, OHJanuary 14, 2008x
Robert ColeLiberty Twp., OHJanuary 14, 2008As someone who has worked for you Mr. Boehner, I ask you to seriously consider Rep. Flake for the Appropriations Committee. This will start the process of returning the Republican Party back to the party of fiscal responsibility.
R LangeBlanchard, PAJanuary 14, 2008Republicans need to take a stand on this and Flake is the one to do it. Make us proud!
Renie SmithRapid City, SDJanuary 14, 2008This looks like an opportunity to put someone on the appropriations committee who understands the need for financial responsibility.
